Well, I was looking through Pricewatch and saw 1 GB of PC2100 DDR RAM for $90 House Brand - ONLINE ORDER ONLY - - GENERIC 1GB TRUE PC2100 DDR 266 266MHZ NONE-ECC 184PIN DIMM MEMORY. DDR SDRAM. 128MX4 DRAMS.

Does it really matter what company I buy it from? I don't know It seemed kind of too good to be ture type of thing I guess it could be me.

Generic memory is never a good choice. Best to stick with a name brand such as Crucial/Micron, Corsair, OCZ or GeiL. If you purchase a 533 MHz CPU (as indicated in your previous posts), you'll want to purchase at least PC2700 memory.

Generic ram isnt the best, but in saying that, Ive never had any problems myself, just dont expect to be overclocking or run at fast timings.

If you can afford, always go with branded ram.
