Am I the only one the instance I saw this pic thought of John Candy? I guess you would have had to known who he was (he died a while back). F.E.A.R however looks interesting.

mmm.. there were Rumours of Monolith licensing the Doom3 engine some time ago. for AlienVs PRedator game.. now that i look at those screenshots i see per pixel lighting everywere , bumpmaps and specular maps with reflections everywhere. if that is not Doom3 engine then its a very similar one... because that the way the graphics look in Doom3.. hehe..

Monolith lisencing another company's engine? Hmm, guess Lithtech didn't work out for them then :D

That engine hasn't had any code taken away from it since Shogo. :nutkick:

License Doom 3??

Did you guys even read the previews: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/untitled-monolith-project-working-title/513626p1.html?fromint=1

The other thing that immediately strikes you about F.E.A.R. is its brand-new graphics engine, developed in-house by Monolith. Abandoning the Lithtech technology that's powered its games for years, Hubbard and his team have opted to create their own tech, taking full advantage of everything DirectX 9 has to offer.

But yea so long Lil-tech.

And IIRC the Both NOLF2 and AVP used a mucher newer engine that the one that did Shogo..jupiter was its code name or so I thought.

It was called Jupiter. But I think a lot of the old tech was in there. My post was mostly a joke. :)

I was going to follow that up with a joke about Jason Hall beating his team if they dared remove any code from the engine. :angel2:
