IIRC, about 260 grams.

I have to agree with everyone here - the PSP is a very slick looking piece of hardware. The handheld market is going to see some fierce competition this coming year.

I heard the PSP was supposed to be about as powerful as the PS2 not PS1. (mag)

PSP Specs (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/430/430963p1.html?fromint=1)

*The system's main memory has been upgraded to 32mb rather than just 8mb.

PS2 Specs (http://ntsrv2000.educ.ualberta.ca/nethowto/examples/m_ho/ps2eengine.html)

That's what I heard too, but it's probably a load of Sony marketing BS.

Edit: though after looking at those specs, it's entirely possible. Wow, the DS has got it's work cut out for it.

Ok, just to let you guys know, nothing is really solid on the psp right now, ...this I can say for sure, trust me :)

rumor has it the price is goign to be 500usd, and it has an external battery pack, BOO

I'll end up buying both the Ds and the Psp, but I gotta say as far as gameplay goes, the DS is far superior for one simple reason, the touch sensitive screen on the bottom. :)

Wow, sony is gonna hit Nintendo hard.

There were many rumors of sony putting out a handheld in the past, they finally did it, probly waititng till they come up with a killer product

you know I doubt the Psp will impact the Ds that hard, look at who their market is, kids, ages 14 and up, the price of the Psp alone will shun away parents and most teenagers.

The psp is going to be a killer product though, although Nintendo already has the market held, they've got experiecne, and like I posted before, they'll have superior gameplay with the touch sensitive screen on the DS.

Besides, theres room for 2 right now, Adults will have the Psp, and kids (grown up kids like me) will have the Ds. :)

Its gonna be freakin expensive but powerful... They planned for ~Dreamcast performance and with the extra RAM the thing has will probably challenege if not compete with the PS2, but my GOD it will eat batteries alive and will do a game gear if it oesnt have the software. Ninty DS is probably ~n64 but with more modern features (like proper textures perhaps), it will probably be cheaper and have far better battery life.

I think you misread.... the PS2 has the 32Mbs of memory... the PSP has only 8.. its not an upgrade. Having that little memory would seriously hamper a PS2-like system.

But still, this thing sounds sweet :D
