1 or 2 days ago, nVidia announced the launch of the new FX 5700 Personal Cinema graphics card. However, I look on nVidia's FTP/WWW and don't see any drivers that support this card. I know the last edition of personal cinema drivers was 53.04, but the 5700 does not appear in the .inf, so either nV will need to modify Forceware 53.04 to support the 5700, or create a new set of personal cinema drivers especially for it. Basically, I'm just wondering has anyone purchased this new card? And if so, which drivers came with it?

Thanks,

omg...

maybe...

maybe there's gonna be a slight oerhaul in the bundled software package, and an increase in quality of the tv componentry?

5700U sounds perfect for a Personal Cinema, unlike the 5600NU personal Cinema that leaves A LOT to be desired in the performance department...

... hmm, well, I guess I forgot... there IS in fact a 5900 personal cinema... I don't have the linky handy...

so, um, well, I guess this will satisfy a different price segment, and IMO it'll do it quite well...

Now if there was only a 5900XT personal cinema...

hehe.

My TV2000/XP card works pretty well for cinema but the newer Forcewares are not working as good as the old 53.04. nView seems to be a big problem in the 6x.xx series, yet the 53.04 personal cinema are very stable on my system, even with all nView functions enabled. I think nV will have to choose a more stable driver before they release any newer 'personal cinema'.

Actually, the 5700 Personal Cinema is a 5700NU based card, you can see from evga's page that it uses TSOP memory. It's not a 5700U card which uses DDR2 or GDDR-3 BGA memory. More interesting imho will be the NV4x Personal Cinemas, where the programmable video processor and hw accelerated encoding and decoding can really be put to good use.

Thanks for the clarification.

I'm still not seeing it in the nv4_disp.inf. These are all cards the last personal cinema drivers will support, unless its modified.

I think the 5700 PC cards will come with updated drivers on their driver cd. Probably Nvidia will release some updated drivers for the PC line in the future also.
