Pictures which appeared in the Daily Mirror apparently showing abuse of Iraqi prisoners were "categorically not taken in Iraq", Adam Ingram told MPs.
If these pictures are fake I hope charges of treason are brought against the mirror
Ya I saw the mirror get blasted. Tiz about time too.

Piers Morgan is a nob, plain and simple.

Though I would contend that actual cases of real abuse should come to light...the deliberate doctoring of news (if this is what happened) helps nothing. It only tends to exasperate situations, to give someone a moment of fame, or infamy as the case might be.

If the pictures are fake then they have put British troops into a lot of danger because of their desire to get some readers. What they have done is definately treason and I want heads to roll.

I think in this case I'm so pissed off I'm going to write to the damn government about this, our troops have been put in life threatening danger over some fake ****ing photos so the mirror can get a bit of extra cash.
Is treason still punishable by death in this country?

The minute that the pictures became public domain there were TA guys on loads of forums pointing out that the equipment used would not be deployed in Iraq. Wrong guns, wrong truck, wrong uniform, "victims" unsweaty, unsoiled, and uninjured. Oh, and the extremely clear quality of the pictures and complete lack of movement.
All these things have been pointed out by Vamp and others long ago, yet it's taken all this time for the Mirror to concede that the images were fakes. Sensationalist, dangerous reporting. The Brits killed in the Saudi Arabian machine gun attack were most likely targetted due to this misinformation.
I can't understand how the Mirror failed to check it's sources, after all the **** the BBC got into over the Gilligan "sexed up dossier" allegations, you'd think the media would be a little more vigilant. :retard:
It will cost coalition lives, and has done nothing to decrease hostility from the Iraqis.
Utter bastards. I hope the soldiers involved are named and shamed and banged out of the army ASAP.

I'm not entirely surprised by the lack of journalistic integrity...we too have had stories of it in the US. But throwing fire onto an already intense situation... It's almost like the first story broke concerning abuses in an Iraqi prioson, and not to be left behind...they had to claim to have "the scoop" as well...except it was all fabricated.
The creation of false stories of abuse is not what the situation needs. Hell, Iraq is a powder cake already  If they had an ounce of integrity, they would print a retraction on them photos, but NOOOO!!!! it seems.

Actually, the Mirror is still refusing to back down, and is already promoting the argument that the photos are representative of events which have taken place, even if the photos themselves were staged :retard:
Is there any way in which the Mirror can be punished for such behaviour..? Britain is now a legitimate target for retaliation (as if it wasn't enough already) thanks to this. I think Piers Morgan should be publically flogged. :wimp:
This type of behaviour is to be expected from the Mirror.
