ack i'm on dsl and i had trouble getting it, had to wait in line at fileshack and finally got it. its awesome. however some of the graphics have that ****ty look to it. like when you get caught by police, and you run away by feet and they chase. the characters look like crap stick figures, and close up the textures look like crap. however the cars are pretty detailed, but i actually think porsche unleashed looks better in some areas. if you want to check out a racing game with absolutely awesome, get the iso demo of v8 supercars race driver. almost lifelike.

I'm pretty dissapointed in it. The controls and feel are nothing like the last 3 NFS games, which are some of my favorites.

its a month old, and its a %70 work in progress. i'm confused as heck though, it seems like the next release of the pro race driver that is being made, but its not. sure looks like it, really confusing. the website also has it being called as toca race driver. bah, either way it looks pretty sick, but you gotta burn it or use a virtual cd drive.

Looks nice, but the controls are really bad. Also, the NFS: Porsche Unleashed tracks had more objects and details along the road, this one was pretty plain. Being chased by the cops is still fun though.

personally i'm really disapointed for the nfs series and ea games. if sony can make gran turismo for ps2, than why can't they make an equivalent for the pc. if you want to see super sweet exotic cars in a game on the pc, the only think really availible is nfs:pu and nfs:4 and they are no where near gran turismo quality. i thought nfs hp2 would change all that, but guess we gotta wait for something else.

EA have F1 2002, and that is visual stunning, furthermore if you have F1 2001 (which is also nice) you can download a GT mod and that is even better!!! the GT mod for f12002 should be released in a few weeks or so.

Anyone try using a wheel with it?

I found the steerinfg response to be Really Really slow. Guess i'll have to use a gamepad...

Saying that, the graphics are very good (minus the people), and it was at least semi-enjoyable...

From what I've read, even the GC and XBOX versions of this game seem to reek, so don't expect anything spectacular... as for the PS2 version, high praise as the best in the series!

nfs can go shove their crappy pc games up their bunghole. i won't consider buying another one till its gran turismo 3 equivelant.

i think the game is great fun and very pretty graphically too (except the naff character models).

ill be getting it when it comes out on the 21st Oct.

even tho i think the copter dropping explosives is silly. they should have police throw stingers instead.

 :D

Actually i find the physics have alot in common with NFS:HS. Not that the physics were great in that game, very arcadish but it still worked. With PU they tried to go realistic but EA just doesn't know how to do a car sim. With a gamepad i think HP2 should be alot of fun multiplayer, although the graphics are good, they could be better.

I have one word for it: PATHETIC.
I have a good system with just under 14000 3Dmarks, and its semi-choppy with 2year-old graphics.
I hope/guess Toca race driver will kick its butt.

Even test drive 1 is more involving.
I will not pay for this sloppy developers work.

Sorry for being so negative, but i expected so much more since i played NFS since the first one came out.

What I always hated about NFS was why have an arcade racer in a completely realistic setting? This does change that, but I don't know about enough. I might pass.
_____
I also HATE EA
I mean whee, they never supported NFS:PU on win2k for absolutely NO reason known to mortal men.
Thats called nonexistant support folks. Theres only one reason it won't run, and it can't be that hard to fix a bloody memory leak.

Downloading a no-CD crack for Porsche Unleashed allowed the game to run all day long under Windows 2000 for me. And it works great under XP even without the crack.

However, I'm still kind of on the fence about HP2, especially after reading these mixed reviews. I have a feeling, though, that TOCA/Pro Race Driver will whomp HP2 silly. I'm still holding out hope, even though the game has been delayed for so long.

lol, the game demo didn't even work for me. I downloaded the install file, tried to open it but it said that it was invalid. Oh well, I'll just stick to Test Drive Le Mans.:D

Could you still patch it? I can't find the patch off the autoupdater, and I can't figure out how I was getting in the game in the first place, because it seems....random.

Not that I honestly care anymore, but HEH

Savage - the no-CD crack for Porsche Unleashed was also a patch that updated the game from version 3.2 to 3.5. It also updated a couple other files.
