The Leadtek 6800 Ultra.
Hard to tell from that pic, but it may well be a single-slot solution, too.
Looks like a space ship... lol.. But arent all ultras Dual DVI?? That might be a GT or even a non ultra...
Thats not the card... even the box says Dual DVI :ORDER:

Me neither. It's not like I have 5 other devices in my PCI slots. I have a sound card and network card, and 3 empty slots.
hardocp conducted tests on the cards that nvidia sent out, and they REQUIRE both molexus be plugged in for it to work properly. with 1 or the other there was frequent crashes, screen corruption, failure for games to display
That is one huge Cooler. Looks like the distant cousin of the TT GiantIII...
Nice :)

well nvidia is breaking everyone in. thats the way i see. as cards continue to advance, i can only imagine so will the power requirements. evenytually we will probably see the voodoo 6 external power plugin type thing happening with cards..
its funny, back then everyone harped on voodoo and their wall plugin power deal, now alot of people talk about it like they would prefer it to the molex solution...... hmm maybe 3dfx broke us in. :D

From Hardocp.com...
As (PR NV Department) states the board you have is an engineering sample. It requires a BIOS/driver update to work off a single power cable. We are providing this to our Add In Card partners and they will implement this on their final production boards that they ship. I'm happy to talk in person about this if you want more details.
Now this of course makes a little more sense than, "You have an engineering sample." We requested the BIOS, flasher, and driver needed to see this work and Ujesh replied that they will get that out to us next week as soon as we see QA accomplished.
I think that leadtek ultra has some awesome cooling on it... Might be looking at some pretty nice temps w/ all that copper... Either way i dont care how many slots it takes up, once it's cool (temp) and runs like a champ! :D

SFF owners.
I think it would be better if they used a wall unit, it wouldnt require a heavy duty psu, and it wouldnt drain power from other devices in your system.
Also you wouldnt have to fool around with molex connectors, Just sounds like a better idea to me.
Yeah, pretty mean looking HSF. Is Leadtek any good? I've never had one of their cards.

The power requirements would be big for an external unit, edit: depending on what EXTRA is needed.....
Ohms law doesn't lie.
hm, the cooling system is HUGE compare with the 1 made by Asus: http://www.beareyes.com/2/lib/200404/29/20040429208_3.htm
btw, according to this article: http://www.gzeasy.com/itnewsdetail.asp?nID=15163
water cooled Gainward 6800U will be clocked at 600/1200 for 599 euro, golden sample will be 430/1150. 600 mhzz core?? that's NUTS!!!!

SFF owners.
Don't forget us mATX tower case users. Just because we like silence and portability, doesn't mean we dont like speed :P.

So which one of the two pics is representative of the final product? XanderF's has one molex, DMA's got two. What about overclocking if it's one?
This should solve the problem :P http://xoxide.com/miposunocone.html

Quite easy to point out. One is an Ultra and one is not.

Does it really mantter if it needs two as long as it overclocks well.I wish ATI would put a big cooler like that on their's,so it could overclock more, and I could care less if it takes up a extra PCI slot,It could take two and it still would'nt bother me,but I have a big case.IMO

dude, it only gives 200 MILLIAMPS!! that doesn't do anything, 6800U neeeds a solid 5 amp, if I remembered correctly, you'll need like 25 of those to power up 6800Ultra.

ATI doesn't really have control over what HSF is on retail boards if they aren't made by ati themselves, if you want to scream at anybody it should be the board makers who seem to lack creativity when it comes to ati cards, always using reference designs and coolers. But i'm sure there will be plenty of cards with those HIS style coolers on them
not the HIS card, http://www.gzeasy.com/newsphoto/y2k4/05/14/his1.jpg , it's got the badass VGA Silencer on it. More pics from
