LEGENDARY rockers Led Zeppelin are set to re-group after 22 years for a money-spinning stadium tour of America.

The three surviving members — singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones — plan to hit the road next summer.

The trio hope to pocket £6.4million for the shows.

Robert, 54, Jimmy, 58, and 56-year-old John Paul met two weeks ago at the offices of their management firm Trinifold.

They buried the hatchet over Page and Plant’s 1990s tour, which John Paul only learned about from a newspaper.

A band insider said last night: “If the right offer comes up they will do it.”

Trinifold added: “Jimmy is itching to do something, but there is nothing firm yet.”

Zeppelin split in 1980 after a booze binge killed drummer John Bonham.

His son Jason is set to play drums on the tour.

The band, famed for songs like Stairway to Heaven and Whole Lotta Love, are second only to the Beatles in worldwide album sales.

They still hold records for crowds at their 1970s concerts.

A music industry insider said: “They had so many hits that I am sure the reunion would be a major success.”

They were extremely broken up........John died the night b4 the opening concert of their tour........right here in Vegas.

The didn't cancel the tour, cuz they thought it was the what John would have wanted, and they didn't wanna disappoint the fans.

Of course they were broken hearted......they've been together for over 30 yrs and they were all like brothers.

Isn't that kind of old news? the question is "when". The news link you posted is broken as well.

It would be awesome to see them play. Always thought Jason would be a reasonable replacement for John...

Unfortunately most concerts like this are a total ripoff. There's seeing a band you always loved but then there is getting totally soaked on ticket prices. Cost me nearly $300 to see the Eagles. Though it was totally memorable it was steep very steep.

I will see them if they come near me.

Page is still a shell of what he was in the 70s though.

also, @OP, you spelled Zeppelin incorrectly. Please ask one of the mods to change that. It's disrespectful.

great story as to how they got their name:

http://library.thinkquest.org/4626/rock.htm
LED ZEPPELIN - Jimmy Page was drinking with Moon and Entwhistle, who were bitching about their band mates Daltrey and Townshend. They joked about the two of them starting a band with Jimmy, and one of them said "Yeah, that will go over like a lead balloon". When Jimmy formed his own band, he remembered this and thought "Lead Zeppelin" would be good, both from that conversation and the heavy/light contradiction similar to the band named IRON BUTTERFLY. They decided to drop the "a" so Americans wouldn't mispronounce it.

Love the band, one of the GREATEST ever.
One of the few classic rock bands that i enjoy.

I'd love to see them live. Page is more of a man than anyone here.
