First post :)

I'm running a GEForce 4 TI4200 and the factory fan went out about a week ago. So I went out and purchased this:
http://www.thermaltake.com/products/chipset/g4.htm

This thing is loud as hell and I can't stand computer noise when it's just sitting there idle. If I was to hook a fan controller upto it and turn it down when I'm not gaming could that cause anything bad to happen to the card? Does anyone know of an aftermarket heatsink/fan for the card that is decently quiet? Or maybe something that is heat sensing and will adjust the speed accordingly. Thanks

If you want quiet get a Zalman or one of the FlowFX look alikes.
Cannot remember the name of it. I'm sure someone here does tho.
They work great and are very quiet.

There are quiet a few aftermarket coolers that fit the GF4
and make hardly any noise. :)

Are you guys talking about the fanless Zalman heatpipe heatsinks? The model number is ZM80-HP

Even with the Zalman W/fan is pretty silent.
