I have finally decided on which video card to buy and I chose a Powercolour 128MB Radeon 9800pro for £142. I am wondering, how easy is it to flash it to an XT bios and speeds. Bear in mind that I am a n00b to this and I have never overclocked anything.

I have flashed a 9500P with a 9700 bios and a 5900U with a 5950U bios. With both I realize certain gains. Overall performance with overclocking ability with the 9500P and improvement in cooling with the 5900U. However, I have not had any reason to flash my PowerColor 9800P with a XT bios because my 9800P currently runs at XT speeds and with third party cooling I have no cooling problems.

If that's the case, then flashing a BIOS is the last thing you want to do. Use this (http://atitool.ocfaq.com/) program to test the overclocking limits of your card. The one you get might very well not even come close to XT speeds. If you go directly to the BIOS flash, you might end up with a dead card or have very strange rendering errors, etc.
