For those of you that haven't read about this, Gamespot.com has an article about Warner Bros. and how they are requiring Publishers to get an average rating of at least 70% from such websites as GameRankings.com. This is for Publishers that release games based on Warner Brothers' properties. This should ensure that higher quality products are released. That means, NO MORE BAD GAME LIKE ENTER THE MATRIX!!!

Here is the LINK (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/05/26/news_6099292.html).

a 70% average? That's still pretty low considering there are many more games worth your hard earned money.

Wow, that's actually a nice requirement. I mean sure, they COULD raise the requirements a little, but at least it ensures we'll never see a Drake or Charlies Angels or Daikatana from them. Though the Xbox and GC versions of EtM got above 70%, so that game would still qualify for release under this rule (though the PC and PS2 versions wouldn't make the cut :D).

Like Tycho from Penny Arcade says (and I'm paraphrasing) "since most bit sites are allergic to a score under 70%, this shouldn't be an issue for most developers"
