How do you install a sound card on an Nforce 2 motherboard? The reason i ask is because when you install the Nforce 2 driver you have to install the audio driver for the built in sound card and i don't want to use the anymore.

Uninstall all nv drivers

reset

disable the onboard audio in bios

redo nv drivers

reset

install sb audigy drivers.

On my last PC that had a NForce2 motherboard I just disabled the onboard sound in the bios and then installed the drivers for the Sound Blaster board. I never had problems that I was aware of doing it this way.

Either way should work I think.

Same method employed here.
