nv40.com (http://www.nv40.com) are reporting this BFG GeForce 6800 Ultra OC(TM) - This next-generation flagship product is overclocked out-of-the-box (425MHz vs. 400MHz standard) and unmatched in speed and image quality, and is the only GPU architecture to deliver support for Microsoft DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0. BFG is offering several upgrade and bundle options for this card, including a water block and 530 watt power supply.

if this is old new appoligies!

ouch... 599 msrp...

at this rate...its a good thing I didnt dump on the USA x800xt deal.

Sigh... hopefully some BB will sell the eVGA card for 499, then I can debate between my two options.

edit... seems like I read it wrong... if you decide to purchase the waterblock it bumps it up to 599... I guess 499 is still a good deal... hopefully bestbuy.com will get it soon.

I"ll buy it, unless MSI, Asus, oe Leadtek come out with a faster one...

I'll wait untill a 450mhz core comes out if it's possible.

I don't think anyone will notice a speed increase ( in actual gameplay ) going from 400 to 425Mhz. Seems pointless.

sure you will, a bit, at higher res right?

but if it means having to get a freakin water cooler or something for a 5% increase, your right, not worth it.

edit: hmm.... yeah your probably right...

farcry benches noticed a 5fm increase from the 400mhz to 450mhz, wouldn't be worth it for 2.5fm increase. LOL.

All about having the fastest card. If nVidia is 5% faster a lot of people don't care about the 5%. nVidia is faster end of story.

I feel sorry for those people. ATI would have to be over 50% faster for me to "overlook" the glaring driver issues that crop up with every release.

my guess is that the 6800Uoc will be 499 and not 599, if you look at the 599 card it is the watercooled model, then glancing over to the ps bundles you will realize that the watercooled bundle is 100 dollars more than the fan bundle, so i believe that the fan model without the bundle would be 499 if they kept to that system, but it'd def be less than the watercooled card, thats what i am getting at :)

Remember on a 16 pixel pipe card 25mhz = a fill rate of 400 pixels/sec. 6400 pixels/sec vs. 6800 pixels/sec.

You mean Mega pixels/s.
