Is anyone else getting intermittent timeouts when trying to connect to this forum? It's been happening for some time now. It works fine for most of the time but then suddenly I'm not able to access any part of the forum for some time. I don't have this problem with any other sites/forums.

Rest assured you're not alone, have been experiencing the same type issues on my end. Think we're still getting some server problems resolved. It began w/ the steady influx of fanboi's so you nvr know :rolleyes2

There are times this server becomes totally inaccessible, yes. And based on what some have said in the IRC channel during some of these times, this is no isolated incident when it happens.
Yep, there are times ya can't get on at all....
Of course in my case I figure I've been banned heheh

Just how wide-spread is this problem? BTW i've had it too; so this is important to me, also.

Bump.
It's not gone yet...:bleh:
It is a problem that is being addressed as best as can be. It is intermittent and not reproduceable so that adds to the troubleshooting. Thanks for everyone's patience. :)

LOL that looks more like an old man smiley than a worried-happy smiley.

What's been up with this, these past 24 hours?
Udawg mentioned in one thread he couldn't join for 3 hours. I posted this morning once, and then the forum server was down for 1.5 hours. And then tonight it went down for a half hour or so, came up, I posted a bit, and then it was back down for a short bit.

This has been happening every day for quite a while now. Also at about roughly the same time every day - usually around 1 or 2 p.m. I hope it gets straightened out soon.
Rest assured that it's not being ignored. Doing the best we can.

Never said you weren't. ;)
But I think you should find your host/server provider and break their knees. :kar:

Drugs, nothing more than drugs. :D Just Mike getting the cat stoned and he wizzed on the server again.
I thought it was me and the crappy ISDN we have at work but it is nV News.
We are pretty sure that the increased disk contention from the automated backups are responsible for the server timeouts. We have also had to reboot the server quite often to recover.
As of June 18, the backups, which ran at 12am and 12pm central time, were temporarily disabled. Joerge is working on a fix that will save the backup files on a remote server.
cool! (pimp)
hopefull the outages will be sorted soon!

Sorry, I didn't know. I'm still a n00b. :o
no problem :) we're all well aware of the issues and are working to resolve them
I hope so.. how can I live for 30 minutes outside the forums???!! :)
It am happy to report that the offending bug that caused server performance to degrade has been eradicated.
