I have solved the TV out problem but to be more specifc, since putting the graphics card back in, the background picture on the monitor does not display properly, everything else is working fine please can anyone help?

Have you set the right "colour quality" in display properties?

I have tried all the colour options on the display properties but for some reason when I do 256 colours the screen goes black, this was working previously. It is currently set to true colour 32 bit.

As you were moving cables around I would first suspect a loose cable somewhere or even a broken/bent pin on the VGA cable. It might be worth checking all the connections (including making sure that the graphics card is properly inserted into its slot).

If it is one or two specific colours (Red, Green or Blue primarily) that you're having problems with then your monitor might be failing.

Otherwise you might be having issues with the monitor/video card drivers.
