nv40 is the number of the GPU. With nv40 there will be GeForce 6800 GT, GeForce 6800 Ultra, and GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme. But is that really what you're asking? I think your asking will there be a cheaper lower-end GPU. I'm not exactly sure about this. Seems everything coming out is very high-end doesn't it? Maybe nV is resorting to the FX series for mid to low end?

Yes probably after Fall. NV's chairman did say they had a whole range of models to compete in every markets ector in a conference call before. We are seeing teh High end play out now. Mainstream and low end will follow :D

NV40 was apparently designed to be very modular so I suspect after a few weeks we will start to hear about the low end/mainstream ir $199 and below products etc

There will be a GeForce 6600 (mid-range) & 6200 (low-end) i reckon .
& we might see an Ultra version for each of them . however they all seems to be PCI-E only .
theyl be based on the NV4x archtectiture .

If nVidia releases a 8 pipe midrange card ATI won't have a chance with there repackaged 9600XT (AKA X600XT) and everyone knows thats where the moneys at. That and budget anyways. Im sure there will also be AGP versions of the cards since nVidia has provided a bridge chip to the for AGP support.
