Going through Jakup's thread about his new 6800U (lucky #astard), it appears that he was getting a 13770 3dmark before loading the new drivers that came out today and a 14005 in 3dmark after loading them.

That's a 1.7% performance increase. Not nearly the 30% figure we've been hearing and speculating on.

Jakup - is this true? It was hard to decipher your thread completely because you were doing some overclocking at the same time. Do you have any better apples to apples comparison?

Do we really need a new thread?

Yes I got a few hundred more points... Both those scores were with the same clockspeeds, nothing has changed.. before, I was unable to beat 14K. I gained a full 7fps on the troll test. The other tests i scored a small 1 or 2 fps higher.

I did lose 1K 3dmark in 01 though.

It's UP TO 30% not 30% overall, and seeing that 3dmark03 is a broad spectrum of rendering power a 30% would seem impossible with one driver release.

:)

edit: just looked at your sig, so now only 23,299. Boo-hoo. The machine I use at work scored 789 in 3dmark01. :lol2:

All that INQ said is that the card still had 30% more power yet to be tapped, they did not say it would be in the next driver release.

I hardly belive the inq means the 61.32 beta drivers i think the 30% comes in the final release what will be posted on the nvidia site and named 63 or 62.xx dont give so mutch in beta releases :retard:

Inkwell quote a source saying that hardware when NV launched was only performing 30% less to it's theoretical capabilities? Of course theory and getting the driver working fine is another question. So 30% maybe be far off but upto 10% after a few releases maybe ;)

They said nV would release a driver which adds significant performance gains in many games and esspecially Far Cry. IT doesn't look like this driver is relaesed yet. I would think they (nV)would make an announcement, if the story isn't made up by the Inq......

Noone ever claimed a future driver would give a 30% performance increase. What they did claim was that NV40 had about 30% more performance left in it than 60.72 showed.
