Based on the article at the inquirer stating 6/15 as the day since nVidia should have Microsoft WHQL for the driver then, I looked at as many online retailers who have the 6800 listed and they all seem to have switched their day to 6/15. :lol2:

So I guess next Tuesday is the magic day! Can't wait!! Battlefield Vietnam stutters like crazy on my ATI 9800XT if I try to turn on FSAA or AF.

hopefully this speculation turns out to be correct :D

Well 61.34 should be the first WHQL officially released. Compared to 61.11 here are a little PS2.0 test
Tomb raider : 224 -> 243 (+8%)
3dm03 : 207 -> 249 (+20%)
FarCry : 325 -> 328 (+1%)

Wow, nice improvement on 3dmark!

Let's just hope no one uncovers any driver cheating. I'm very turned off by the whole ATI driver cheat issue with the x800 at this point.

I wonder if this game's (http://archive.gamespy.com/games/1457.shtml) release date has anything to do with that magic date? Also confirmed here! (http://www.videogamereview.com/PCGames/PSS_3764_680_100crx.aspx)

*shrug*

GameSpy says "July 14, 2004" while VideogameReview says "6/15/2004" or "6/1/2003" :D

Is that PS2 test going to be reflected in a GT4 DX9 increase in score, nvidia look really weak there ... also I thought 61.40 were out, don't they show the increase as well ?

Well they are parts for each game/ game test 4, so you should see some improvement over 61.11. 61.40 are not newer than 61.32 it seems, so who knows about 61.34.

But don't forget that it's just one partial test of an application, so i doubt you will see a 20% increase in GT4 for example.

Thanks for the confirmation / explanation or the driver chronology. Will see what transpires .

Not only will this be the magic day for drivers, but how can we forget the drawing of the Extreme Edition over at EVGA today, since it is Friday.

Yep, i go there for a good laugh, but they did have the 9700 pros before everyone else.

Usually they are rude bastards, but they seem to have been restaffed and were nice this time.

Heh, yeah, same story from me. :) I've not been there in a long time though.

I can't wait to see what the finel rel. drivers will do, I wonder if it will be the free substantial performance boost that Nvidia said in a press release a few weeks ago :drooling:
