View Full Version : Artifacts while playing Games
Greetings
I have been experiencing severe artifacts while playing any video game.
No over clocking on either PC or Video card.
I have sufficient cooling on the processor however I have a feeling this may be caused by my video card.
I have an ATI 9800 PRO.
Any suggestions

is the fan still working on the 9800 pro, if not is it still under warranty.

The fan must not be doing its job properly. Either get it replaced or get one of these.

Yes the fan is still working but dam that card is hot.
I am just assuming its the card running hot since I cant think of anyting else that would cause this .
I tried different drivers and this did not make a difference
Ill be playing any game and then the graphics start pulling apart and everthing stretches.
Never had this problem before
I just purchased the 9800 Pro about a month ago so im looking at that as the culprit
9800s are typically very hot even at default....burning hot. This is normal.
Is your monitor up to the task of high speed gaming?
Nope it's the video card i STRONGLY SOJUEST you have a case with a side fan, i had to mode my Antec P160 to have a 120mm fan and my temps drop a huge amount 10~15C!!!!! I couldn't cut the windows so i had to use my other side panel which was a spare :(
As my water cooling piepes pass just underneath it it also lowers my CPU temp 2~3C too :)
something is serious wrong...if you have to take drastic measures to run at default speeds.
