ahh.. didn't read thru the entire thread; just the part where they took the GT off heh.. too bad, i would've jumped on it.

having a hard time with the ultra. i'm leaning towards it.. but... i think i'll wait till i can get one below msrp, and can avoid the sales tax (with BB i'd be dinged an extra $45).

Hmmm I got hit for only $29 for taxes on the 499.99. Whats your tax rate??? LOL BTW even with the taxes, it was LESS then the other 2 preorders I had:

Compusa PNY 6800U 533.50(includes taxes)
Buyxg.com EVGA 6800U 545(no shipping charge or taxes)
BestBuy BFG 6800U OC 529.49(includes taxes)

So even tho Im getting charged taxes, its less then the online only site BuyXG. Both CompUsa and BestBuy are in my state, but the taxes are assessed different cuz Best Buy is in my town and CompUsa is in Denver that has a slightly higher tax rate(not by much accounts for an additional $4)

Ahhh I C well either way, if you buy at a local store, you'll pay taxes. And theres no guarantee there will be a reduction in price anytime soon. Of course its up to you :) Suck to have that high a tax rate(8.9) I think there are parts of Denver that have near that. Where i am, its 6.875

i would of went for this, but in retrospect, if the gt was 299, i would be paying 200 dollars for 50mghz. Now that deal is gone, and i have no idea what im gonna do

Jarred heres the link to the BFG 6800 OC Ultra. The page is still there when I load it......the link redirects to a different url with the listed card, so its not my browser cache.

I cant make up my mind. I have the $299 BFG 6800GT on pre-order now. Is it really worth the extra $200 for the ultra. How much speed improvment will I see from the GT to the Ultra? Hmmmmmm cant make up my mind. :retard: :drooling:

well, if i could've gotten in on the $299 deal (and i'm not yet convinced they will actually ship it - BBuy has cancelled my order on a similar situation before) i would've gone that way rather than the Ultra.

while perhaps not quite as fast, definately better "bang for the buck" imo.

I'll be reviewing the BFG Tech 6800 Ultra OC (http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=339700&postcount=5)...should be receiving it in a couple of days now. I'm planning on a quick, focused review. I will likely add more to it later but considering all of the anticipation it's best to get the "meat" of the review out ASAP. Stay tuned.

hm, this is kinda weird. the box said DUAL DVI for GT, but i only see DVI + VGAHmm, good point. I'll see what I can find out about this.

My guess is that the box image I posted earlier might be incorrect as the box image shown on BFG's website (http://www.bfgtech.com/6800GTOC.html) states VGA + DVI + S-Video Out. Also, if you look at the full size image from my post you can see that the card in that box is a VGA + DVI and not two DVIs.

Okay, well, my day sucks. I get my order cancelled from CompUSA and they claim my credit can't be authoized when I know my credit and funds are more than enough and now I goto Best Buy to pre-order the BFG 6800 Ultra OC and the damn link is gone. Apparently, I am not meant to have a next generation card because I am getting F***ed everywhere I go. Apparently my money must not be good enough for some companies that I thought I trusted.

It's going to be the users call here. You will likely be able to coax alittle more out of the Ultra, but if you actually get the BB price deal, I'd go with that. I suspect the GT is going to be a solid overclocker. I can't see me spending 200 dollars more for a possible plus 25mhz.

I haven't gotten a 'sorry we made a mistake' from BB yet, or a cancel, just an order number. So I am crossing my fingers.

Already saw that(was in 6800 GT thread) and yeah I made a preorder:)

Dumb question: How do you preorder? I can't find a button for it :retard:

Jedi Rainman

Thats what I am saying. Earlier today, there was a button, now there is nothing. The so-called button that says "coming soon" said pre-order and would allow you to click and order. What a disappointment!!! :lame: :lame: :lame: :lame:

Hehe, the whole situation is amusing. I'm getting the distinct impression that there's about ten thousand people chasing after about 20 cards. Best Buy probably got freaked out by the number of pre-orders and pulled the link while they check to make sure it isn't a price mistake.

06-15-04, 12:24 AM
Well dammit, I will get one. I will have one. I will stay up for the next 24 hours until that link is re-activated so that I know my pre-order will be in there system. I have the next 2 days off, so I think I will do just that! :drooling:

I am still here. I am still waiting for Best Buy to re-open for more pre-orders. I will not give up. I want my BFG Technologies GeForce 6800 Ultra OC 256MB AGP Graphics Card. I want it now.

It looks as if I have the pre-order option of the 6800U you may want to retry and get some sleep. :zzzz:

Yeah, I hit refresh again early this morning. The option was there again. Now I'm booked and my card is on order for next day shipping. Now its time to sleep... :drooling:
