I saw that on ebay as well you sure it's not a regular 6800 looks exactly like a 6800 to me.

Yeah, the GT has that extra thin HS near the end of the card (which the base 6800 does not)..also, different capacitor placement than base 6800. :)

so check out this bs. change the board out and the system won't boot into my xp or 2000 partition. went through the whole list, clear cmos, safe mode, on its own power connecter etc...no boot, locks up 3/4 way though. so thinkin i got screwed over, i trade out my kids ati 9600 (on an nforce amd system) and it fires right up no problem. so the cards fine.

must be a conflict or incompatibility. not only that the stupid northbridge clip on my ic7-g popped out again (stupid abit pos) this is the second time i opened my system up to find my northbridge heatsink hangin. never buying an abit board again.

anyways, i'll be posting an update later...

Does your PSU meets the requirement?

Did you also lower your cpu overclock? I'd set everything back to the default if you haven't already just so you know that's not an issue.

Anyway, at least you know if works though and that's probably a relief.

I'll second this and recommend you reset you bios to failsafe defaults and try again.

I had a similar problem with a 5700 Ultra. I was able to restore my overclocked setting later.

dropping to stock was the first thing i did.....

anyways. i pulled my audigy card and it booted right up....running a quick 3dmark before i try to get the audigy back in using a different slot...

ok. bumped the card up to 376/1060 (getting really close to ultra speeds now..) and ran the most current build of 3d2003. also the drivers that came with the card are the 61.34. no lockups or crashes so far,
setting the card back to 2x aa/8x af for some 1600x1200 gaming tomorrow...

Very, very nice. I'm looking forward to getting a 6800GT too. Don't know if it's overkill with my AXP 2600+ 2083MHz/333MHz DDR, though. I currently have a GF4 Ti 4400...

Dazz

It's overkill even for my XP @ 2.4GHz, you really need an P4 3.4+GHz and Athlon64 system to get the most out of it :o
