I got a 5800 Ultra and I'm having display problems, the card post fine, shows the windows logo but when it gets the desktop it messes up big time can't even see the icon/text. if I boot in safe mode it's looks ok. I've tried new drivers from Nvidia, uninstalling/reinstalling the card and still the same. I've tried the same card in 3 other PC with no change, still messed up. I got the card used so I have idea who made it and no way to tell. If anyone out there can me please do with ANY information, or if you need some more from me please let me know.

thanks

Umm...this is the dust-buster right? You will likely be getting a different card, not sure what, cause they won't have 5800 Ultra's laying around anymore.

Newegg is selling them again, and BFG is sellign refurbs on their site. The 5800U is making a come back!

Return of the dustbuster!

The 5800 Ultra is overpriced as hell at Newegg.

Not really. When I visited BFG's headquarters last year, they literally had boxes full of 5800 Ultras. BFG must have released those cards to a select few vendors.

It'd be a nice card to play with, but I sure as hell wouldn't pay more than like $175 for one.

Heh If i could get one for $120-$130ish i'd rgab it in a heart beat, otherwise i'd just buy another 5900NU. My brother had a 5800U and i still think it got more flak than it deserved, i didn't find it to be that loud and i thought it had pretty good performance. It was definitely somewhere between a 9700pro-9800pro speedwise.

More like 9600XT and 9700 pro.

With AA and AF yes. Without, the NV30 was much closer to the 9700 Pro than most folks would give it credit.
