Only works for geforce 6 cards, Its a driver bug for FX 5900 cards

True. 16x AF is not possible on 5900 because its not supported in hardware. I suggest you uninstall those drivers (61.40?) and go with 61.34 because it fixed this bug. 61.40 is NOT newer than 61.34 ;)

Do the 61.34 still allow for trilinear opts to be disabled?

Yes sir. As well as Anisotropic opts can be enabled/disabled. :)
