nice review of DIgitlife... albeit a little short..

look what happens when both cards are tested under similar conditions.. apples vs apples.. at all the time.. :) they use TRilinear on and off.. for comparison purposes.. the GT manage to win in most benchmarks no matter is they use similar ATI optimizations or not..

albeit FC still have NV3x quality issues.. but if im not mistaken also R4xx hardware too.. with shadows there.. so that game still need fixes from ATI and NV drivers and from CRytek too..

Even better is the comparison guide which includes the 6800 Ultra/GT and X800 pro/XT PE stretching all the way back to the Radeon 9200 and Geforce 5200!

Posted that review over at the above forum and still hear crap. Apparently its not fair to put the GT up against the x800pro because it has more pipes. Why cant people just let NV enjoy its new gpu! Amazing, maybe x800 buyers get mad at their own purchase I'm not sure. I enjoyed the 9700pro and the 9800xt, but people need to see where the value for their money is, the 16pip-12pipe comparisonm isnt an issue in my eyes, thats what ati brought to the table in that price range right?

Since they are the same price why not compare them.

My point exactly. I think they are both good, and if I got a stupid good deal on an x800 I'd be all over it.

hehe thats pretty interesting in the HL2 department.
What was it Gabe N. talke about? 40% lead for ATI?

Just another example what a lame ass company valve is.

ya I bet $100 turns into %4 instead of %40...

Im actually surprised the numbers are that low for both ATI/Nvidia. They were saying 9800pro could run HL2 at 60fps max settings!...Somethings very wrong here or they have actually upped the graphics in this game(sm3.0 anyone?)

Max settings in game. Not including AA and AF.

the numbers without AA/AF in the HL2 beta are only 10fps higher for a total of 69

this was before or after the launch of the new cards?

if it was before there is a reason he said it and it was backed up by all tests wrt ps2.0 we saw...

post nv40's launch there is no grounds for backing that up...

probably the "60fps" valve told in the 9800xt was at indoors in less demanding scenes.. outdoors no matter which game have a higher ammount of polys.. means more expensive. same like farcry. in fact there are parts in single player in FC where performance have been said to go all the way the 10 fps!!! at highest possible settings no matter how fast in your video card /cpu...
