I am almost positive now the new drivers are at fault. 61.12 is working perfect for me! I think 61.34 (which the cards came with) and newer may be buggy. Feedback welcome..

Well that's good news if that is true - I may still get a 6800 Ultra at some point so I hope these problems are fixed.

It seems to me Nvidia and ATI may be trying to claim the top end speed crown in 3DMark03 so bad it may come at the cost of stability in other applications. Hopefully everything will work out in the end.

I think this is a very good thing guys. My lock ups are gone and everything is smooth sailing. If you go over to the guru3d.com forums they support this idea!

sweet man :) Supposly the new drivers have incompatiability with certain cards... dunno..

Hurry up nV... They STILL don't have official Forceware drivers

I guess by the time my gf 6800 turns up then all these driver issues will be sorted. No, that is still no silver lining :)

If the cards are all shipping with 61.34 then there will be a lot of 6800 owners not visiting these forums who will be unhappy. Thanks for all the information and hard work trouble shooting guys, glad they are working now.

Glad to see it is software and not hardware as well ..phew ..

Regards
Andy

Yup... 61.34's caused major problems with my card.. Froze like crazy. So I have gone to 61.40's. Try those, if you haven't. They have provided great stability and performance for me.

I have the eVGA 6800UEE and it shipped with 61.12. I had no problems with them. Since then I have tried 61.32 and now 61.34 and have not had any problems with any and found each one a little better. Just my 2 cents on my experince.

Cool, at least, that means that your card is working properly. Now Nv, give us some good WHQL drivers please :)

Yeah, I wasn't really trying to do stay up so late doing that, but when you pay 600 bucks for something and it doesn't work, you're gonna try to fix that ****! hehe.

Oh yeah, just tested 61.21 drivers... they work fine.
