I've got the Asus A7N8X board I'm using for a firewall machine. Seems to be the perfect fit, EXCEPT that the nForce driver will not install.

I get the splash, then it's gone.

This on a fresh install of MS Windows Server 2003.

Any bright ideas or am I screwed?

Just out of curiosity, which drivers are you using? Also, why 2k3 Server?

If you using the 2k/XP drivers they may not be compatible with 2k3. You can try installing them manually but that may hose your system. Are the drivers extracted somewhere before the exit. If so you can try installing the drivers manually one by one. Right click on appropriate *.inf file and select "Install". If the appropriate devices are in the Device Manager you can update each driver through there. Or you might have to extract the files manually using you favourite extraction program (e.g. WinRar). All at your own risk of course.

nVidia don't seem to be spending too much time working on nForce drivers at the moment.

Anyway, I've never tried 2k3 so you should probably wait a while for someone who has.

monstermaxx,

i have the same board as u asus a7n8x rev 2 1007 bios, iv been using win 2003 for a year, and its great no problems what so ever. i used win 2003 on a gigabyte nforce board ga7n400pro 2. before i baught this asus board. i get odd time were things dont start up like u explained (I get the splash, then it's gone.) i am pretty sure on my my machine i have narrowed it down to the way i have my comp overclocked, up the vcore to the next setting eg, if u are at 1.65v core put it at 1.675. and try again also u can try that compatibilty mode. but just between u and me that windows compatibilty mode doesnt really do ****. :)
