I'm using Pop-Up Stopper Pro and simply the best window killer I have ever used :D

Just use Phoenix. Blocks pop-ups automatically.

Mozilla... in stripped-down email-and-IRCless form. It's faster than IE6, too...

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/phoenix/phoenix-release-notes.html

Plus it's got the coolest installation routine ever.

Unzip it. :p

Opera has a tremendous built in pop up stopper.

But Opera ain't free, and Phoenix is just as fast.

I downloaded Pheonix and tried it...Overall, pretty good browser...

I still prefer IE6, though I'll use Pheonix whenever I'm...er...browsing mp3's.... :p

Try POW! (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/pow.htm). It will let you add any popup to an "ignore" list.... and you will never see it again :)

Try the proxomitron 4.4.
It's a very customizable proxy that works with all browsers and it's freeware.

Proximotron came highly recommended from another forum, but I found it to be buggy, and it's not simple as hell to configure. I went back to the free version of Pop Up stopper... simple and as effective.

Same here. Back to Pop-Up Stopper for me - it doesn't get any simpler than set it and forget it.

Another happy user here, although Ive just stopped using it as Norton Firewall 2003 has a built in ad blocker which seems to work well.

how do you enable the built-in popup blocker in Mozilla?

To enable popup blocking in Mozilla:
Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Scripts & Plugins
Make sure that "Open unrequested windows" is unchecked.

For another decent popup-blocking browser, try http://www.avantbrowser.com. It's got the groovy tabs like Mozilla and Phoenix, and it's built on the IE services. Not too shabby, especially if you're an IE fan. I still prefer Mozilla for most things, Avant Browser is pretty decent as well.

Cheers,
JND

This forum tends to frown upon links to warez/warez-related sites. You haven't posted warez before, so it's not like we're gonna kill you or anything, but we're just watching our butts.

/off topic

I recently downloaded an app called Pop Oops, it's freeware and blocks all popup ads. It works great and can be bypassed by holding the ctrl button.
