You guys see where this card got a stable OC of 473 on the core? That's quite better than the old 450 limit we were seeing.

Yes, but its most likely the exception rather than the rule. I'd be happy if I get a 425/1100 6800U when I get mine, I don't intend to overclock yet.

450/1.3 here, runs great!

So they said "Plenty of overclocking headroom" indeed true? :)

425/1.2 here, a nice card.

Still waiting for my preorder, would be nice to get a 450 mhz one :)

They mention "the same underclocked 600MHz Samsung GDDR3 RAM". What is the regular speed of 6800U RAM? And why didn't NV use it?

I wonder what's going on with the clock speeds? My retail XFX 6800Ultra shipped at 425 core and 1.15 Memory. His arrived at 450 core and 1.1 memory. I will have to e-mail XFX and find out. Maybe I can get a 450 MHz model if those clocks are correct.
If you have a XFX 6800 Ultra can you post your default clocks.

The more reviews I read, the happier I am I've decided to get a 6800U.
As soon as I get it tested in stock form....I'm tearing off the HFS and slapping on the wa-wa :)

btw: its a BFG 6800Ultra OC coming from BestBuy

cool have fun i ordered the BFG 6800 GT from compuplus i'll see if they ship this week :) if not i'll just go bfgultra.

Mine came clocked at 400MHz (2D) and 425MHz (3D). Memory at 1.1 for both :screwy:

Upping the clocks creates a larger gap between it and the GT. Other wise the GT could cannibalize the the ultra sales.

1. Upping the clocks creates a larger gap between it and the GT.

2. Other wise the GT could cannibalize the the ultra sales.

1. Yes and no...

I have a reference 6800GT that came clocked at 350/1.0.

I can Auto OC and reach damn near Ultra speeds with 12,351 3D Marks in 3D Mark 03 and 62,770 in AM3 without benefit of Hyperthreading.

2. I believe that nV is counting on 6800/GT sales to be their bread and butter (profit-wise) as I do not see the average consumer willing to spend the $100 for the marginal speed increase/taking up 2 slots/PS concerns, etc.

However, "cannibalizing ultra sales" is really not likely as nV is probably not going to have sufficient enough Ultra yields for this scenario to play out.

You know what just cant understand? Why all of these review sites are benchmarking the 6800U against the X800 Pro. I mean the XT seems to be king in alot of games as of now , but a comparision against both companys flagship cards would seem to make a more rounded review IMO. I dont know , I mean the X800 pro can hold its own I just think it would make sence to bench two 16 pipe cards against each other not a 12 vs 16. End Rant.
