I was just wondering if anybody has tried any of the 60 series of drivers with a 5800 and if there are any increases/decreases in performance/visual quality. I've been a little chicken to try them out. Please don't respond with that hair blower sucks.

I have a 5800U, but I've only been playing with it with the 60.XX drivers... :p

I dunno, 44k in AQ3 is pretty decent for a 2.1ghz, 190fsb, 512mb nforce2 GF's pc... I see that 3dmark01 scores have dipped quite a bit, .. heck, I lost 1k between 60.72 and 61.71, goin from 15.1k to 14.1k! And 3dmark03 only churned out 5.1k...

BUT, this could be just me misinterpriting things, but it appears that these newer forcewares are higher in IQ than, say, 52.16... and thus, the benchmarking performance decrease...

I'm runing a bit of an odd setup, and can't really judge the performance vs. my previous rig (12x200 barton nforce2 1gb dual geil 5900xt), but I can however say that the IQ is nice, and the speed of course is likeable, even if some fps have been sacrificed.

btw compatibility remains the same: great

Hairblowers sux0r. That's why God invented water cooling. My 5800 is now likely quieter than your card. You walked into that one. :kill:

the 60 series of drivers finally makes the nvidia Gas Station demo to be playable

not getting stuttering fps in it but you get to see all the effects though

Well, my 6800 GT came in today, and I no longer have use for that hairblower. It was good while it lasted. May it rest in it's box. My HSF is way louder than the 5800.
