View Full Version : 61.36 vs 56.72performance in 3dmark03 Game tests
I decided to post my findings about these drivers. All settigns where on default, i didnt touch anything. Just ran game tests only.
Forceware 56.72 3Dmark03 Results : 4925
Forceware 61.36 3Dmark03 Results : 4829
But 61.36 is much better driver as far as quality and stability goes. Can score approx 5500 with my setup. Not bad for a 266 fsb processor ey? :) But you're right tho, some of the older drivers seemed faster in the benchmarks, but not as fast in games.

The 60 series drivers all exhibit the Joint Operations fog/skyline bug. I won`t update from the 56.72s till that is fixed.
I noticed that too. But for as many games as I play, that one little tiny (almost unnoticable) bug in Joint Ops isn't gonna make me go all the way back to 56.72 drivers that have less quality compared to 6x.xx. However I do like the fact that there are stereo 3d drivers that go along with the 56.72. Unfortunately in Painkiller as well as other games I play, there are bugs that make characters and their shadows turn blue (Far Cry ring any bells?). I'm looking forward to the next 60 series 3d stereo forceware combo with the fixes included.
I don't have that problem in PainKiller, not yet, I'll keep an eye out.
Problem was in 56.72. 61.71 runs very smooth, and no characters turn blue. I just went back and tested 56.72 with my 3D glasses now I get random flashes, as if someone was to shine a flashlight in my face... However I don't know if its a driver problem or a problem with my DDC VGA 3D glasses.

For my particular system:
61.71= Blue screen of death (minidump problem)
61.36= Excellent quality and speed. The best Nvidia driver for my card yet.
Might be your glasses rewt. I haven't had any problems with any of my games with any of the drivers.
