Long time Lurker and ATI user, first time poster. :)

I ended up getting in on the Outpost.com and Compuplus BFG 6800GT deals.

I received the Outpost.com GT this morning and just received Compuplus's tracking #. It should be in my hands on Thursday. (I was leary I wouldn't actually snag the GT at $345 from compuplus so I ordered from Outpost as well)

Well so far my OC results for the BFG 6800GT from Outpost.com is currently 430mhz core, 1.1ghz memory.

I've only tested 3dmark 2003 and Warcraft 3. No glitches and seems stable. I'll test more tonight or tomorrow when I have the time and will run 3dmark 2001 overnight to test for stability at these overclocks.

My 3dmark 2003 score is here: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=2713853

Got 12600 w/ my GT OC'd that far on 61.71 drivers, with a P4 3.3ghz (only 533mhz though, not a 800mhz chip)

So now what to do, do I sell the Compuplus GT I'm getting and stick with the nice overclock on the Outpost.com or risk opening the compuplus to see if it overclocks better and return/sell the Outpost.com card? :)

430/1100 is already a nice overclock for a GT.
However, If I were you, I will wait to see if the other one overclocks better. :)
Who knows?

Hey BANKO, your the reason he bought two cards. You did say that COMP-U-PLUS had horrible Reseller Ratings. ;)

MAN, you're totally rocking at Ultra speeds with that overclock. I'd just stick with the card and sell the other one unopened on eBay for a profit. You should get more for it unopened than if you open it.

Heh I ordered from outpost :D They had bad ratings on resellerratings.com but good ones on bizrate.com Where comp-u-plus had horrible both ways :/

Keep the one u have now.
You are not going to see much higher overclocks if any
than u have now.

Just sell the one coming or send it back. :)

Think what you guys have suggested is what I'm going to do. Keep this one and sell the other.

I am home now, so I'm going to benchmark and make sure the card is 100% stable at 430, 1100. I have not pushed it farther mind you. :)

I'll report back if I can get it up to 430+, 1100+ stable on stock cooling.

Once, I find its sweet spot, I'll benchmark for all you guys. :)

****EDIT****

It appears the 430/1100 is my sweet spot. I've gotten the card to run to 445/1150 but it ends up artifacting after awhile. At 430/1100 after gaming, the GPU measures around 72 degrees celsius than goes to about 60C when idle.

hey, I will be interested to buy one of your slower 6800GTs after your test drive. Stock speed is good enough for me

As long as you can hit or break 400/1100 speeds i wouldn't complain because thats ultra speeds right there and you just saved $100+ from getting an ultra :).

I agree. If my GT will do 400+ core and 1100+ memory
I'll be very happy. :D
The lucky ones are the guys who got the BB deal for 299.
Man that was the deal of the year.
