View Full Version : PCIe 6800 in 90 days?

Anyone think the PCIe version of the 6800GT will be out in 90 days?

I just bought my GT from eVGA and am thinking about upgrading my mobo/CPU too in the near future. The reason I ask about the 90 days is because eVGA does thier free "step up" where I could step up to a PCIe for almost free. If they'll be out this soon, I'll wait and get a PCIe mobo - otherwise time to put another dent in my wallet and stick with AGP.

Why bother with PCIe just an expensive upgrade for same performance.

I'd wait a year. PCI-e isn't expected to catch on that fast. So companies aren't jumping on it as quickly. One year from now I think it will be much better.

Be better just to stick with 875 chipset instead.

For AMD users god knows when they'll go PCI-E.

doubt it.

I think that I am good for 2 years. Will go BTX after that anyway... if you are gonna make the jump, might as well not do it half assed

Well, I know there are QuadroFX 1300 (PCIe version of QuadroFX 1100 I believe) available to system builders, but for consumers, yeah it's probably gonna be quite a while before a PCIe 6800 is available for consumers.
