Been a while since I shared some recent pictures Gwen. She's getting near that horrible age of 2 (which will be official in February) and, to tell you the truth, the little ratfink has been off to an early start. The dogs can't stand her anymore because the moment she walks in, she argues with them in her toddler English, especially the female dog - Sugar.
Gwen bothers Sugar because Sugar reacts in the form of growling. Gwen doesn't know that a growling dog is a dog that doesn't want to be pestered. Well, she found out earlier as Sugar snapped at Gwen (for the record, Sugar is so old that she no longer has teeth and she's pregnant with pups again). Gwen started bawling - more out of fright than any injury - as there isn't much damage a toothless mutt can do.
Before the accusations of "Sy's a bad dad!" start flying, let me say that Pekingese dogs are very tolerable of children for the most part but when they get pestered time and time again, they lose their patience. Gwen needed to learn this important lesson just like her own Daddy did when I was her age. When I was 2, I kept messing with Tammy - the family pekingese at the time - and Tammy was 20x more temperamental than Sugar ever was. Plus, Tammy had teeth - scores of them!! As far as I'm concerned, Gwen is getting off light.
It didn't matter anyway. This morning, the first thing Gwen did upon waking up and start arguing with Sugar. It's tough keeping her away from her. She doesn't mess with Jake because Jake can tolerate it, and when he has enough, he'll either move or playfully nibble on her hand with a slight rumble as if to see, "Aight, leave Grampa Jake alone! I'm tired." But the female is a whole can of worms and Gwen just messes with Sugar because she'll growl immediately.
Gwen's really starting to take after her Dad - ears and all!! :D :p
