No Broken Transfers

Not an issue with Firefox.

a popup blocker that works

Yeah, it works too well. There are some popups that it will block even though I've requested them. In Firefox I can set up exceptions so the ones I need work.

it's fast. Sorry did I mention it's fast?

It's fast when the program decides it wants to load a page. A lot of times when accessing this forum there will be a lag of up to 10 seconds before the page loads. Doesn't happen in Firefox or even IE for that matter.

Oh and the magic wand feature that remebers your username and password for individual websites is a big bonus.

IE and Firefox can do this too. It's not unique.

Give IE & Netscape the boot and give another 3rd party browser a try, you woin't regret it.

I've used every version of Opera since 4.0 and there is not one version that's ever worked as completely correct as Firefox or IE. When there are bugs in the former, they get fixed a hell of a lot faster. You can download a new build every day if you want.

certain upload managers (eBay picture manager for instance) only works with IE.

Last few items I've sold on eBay were listings I created in Firefox, picture manager worked perfectly fine there.

Oh yeah, and who the hell wants to pay to have an ad-free browser when Firefox is everything Opera is and a bag of Gardetto's and it doesn't cost one red cent?

Not an issue with Firefox.Who said it was? :retard: FF's download manager isn't really one of the brightest.

IE and Firefox can do this too. It's not unique. With Opera you can use a server-wide login so you don't have to login for different pages, and enter login/pw with a single mouse button with pages not allowing auto-login. There's also the usefull master-password.

Use Proxomitron and configure your plugins right.

Don't dare to call me a Opera fanboy or so because I just replied to you as you did to him. Some people like one or the other, there's no use in bashing other browsers because you're wrong anyway because that's a personal oppinion and doesn't matter.

I use Opera, simply because it's what works the best for me.

Maybe because Firefox simply isn't everything Opera is? No matter what your preference is, there is no denying the fact that Firefox does not have everything that Opera has. Of course there are also features in Firefox that are not in Opera, and there are big differences in their approaches (extensions vs having everything built-in from the start as an example).

There are different advantages and disadvantages to both, just choose whatever works for you. Don't flame others for not making the same choice as you.

I've never tried or even looked at Opera. I'm using Firefox right now and I love it. It's so much faster than IE. I getting to where Microsoft sucks.

Now if only a certain company (*cough* Logitech *cough*) would make their iTouch software compatible with Firefox, I'll be set.

Seconded. I bought my Logitech keyobard about a month ago, and promptly sent them a complaint after I found iTouch wasn't compatible. The reply I got hinted that more browsers would be supported in future versions, but perhaps I was just being optimistic when reading it.

I'm using the Moox optimized (Version 1.0) Firefox on all three of my home PC's and on my business laptop. I will never go back to IE again, too many problems with spyware and adware. Browsing is faster and the pop-up blocker works better than the one in IE with SP2. The biggest advantage: no more spyware & adware. The nice thing about the Moox Firefox version is that it doesn't install into your program files & registry.

Opera 7.54 . I often try out new versions of firefox but they are never better than good ol' opera :)

Firefox 1.0 here, for some reason i never liked Opera that much, i don't know, maybe it's because i find it a bit too full of options for my taste.

I am still using IE.. My opinion is that Internet Explorer with XP SP2 has tremendously improved concerning security and spyware.

I feel the same. IE 6.0 has fixed many issues from the past and I have had very very little issues with IE for a long time. SP2 just enhanced IE even better. I am willing to try FireFox though and see what is better

Things like this are supported by Mozilla or Firefox. It is just that developers of Flashget did not include support for Firefox in their app. Try to search their site for more info on their support for Firefox or send them an e-mail and ask them about it.

You can also try an extension like FlashGot (https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=220). And don't forget to take a look at other extensions on that page.

I just started using Firefox yesterday. Really awesome, only problem is the side to side scrolling on the mx1000 doesn't seem to work, and the 3 lines pure click scroll seems to default at one..

Well, I just downloaded Firefox and so far its awesome :)

I used that pipelining tweak and pages load extremely fast now. One thing I have noticed though is that when I scroll with the middle mouse button (is it called autoscroll?... you click and hold and move the arrow to scroll fast) its sort of jerky and not smooth so its rough on the eyes. It also doesnt seem to scroll as fast as with IE. Not major problems, but if theres a way to change these Id like to.

I checked the about:config settings and there are a lot of mouse settings, but I dont know what would effect this. If anyone knows anything about this, let me know.

Thanks :)

And my avatar does look crazy with Firefox :D

Yeah ! .. looks like theres something wrong with it .
could it be GS's own website/servers ?? all other pages are loading very well for me with FireFox .

Well its super smooth with IE, It looks like theres just a bug with Firefox and whatever GS is using for that page. It only starts skipping real bad when the "spotlight" and "check latest prices" boxes are visible.

Oh well... I dont go there that often anyway :p

For one reason or another I believe its the flash stuff that messes up Firefox..

I feel, generally, Firefox is a bit more sluggish and bloated than IE..

Only reason I use Firefox is for the ability of BOTH tabbed and new window browsing.. Once IE has that, or someone builds a wrapper around IE that has BOTH (currently, for some odd reason, the ones out there can only do one at a time), I'll jump back to IE.

I just got a truckload of spyware and trojans at medium security with IE6 and SP2...

The evil processes got killed, the evil files deleted and HiJackedThis!'ed in less time than it took me to unplug from my router. But I decided I had enough of managing trusted sites (medium security) from the rest (high security).

Firefox it is, screw activeX.

I still dont know what people do to get these kinds of problems. I like Firefox, but Ive seriously never had anything like this happen with IE. Ever.
