Mods: Any chance of making this a sticky for a few weeks?
i've posted this in another poll somewhere, but i've got nothing better to do so i will post here.
my browser of choice is galeon -- by a hair. galeon is a browser designed for use in GNOME (a linux desktop environment). it is very basic and bare bones, and what i like best about it is that it uses the gecko rendering engine (the one that mozilla/firefox uses). my second favorite is a very close second... Konqueror. konqueror is part of KDE desktop environment, and it is very fast loading. also, the ability to use mouse jestures is really nice (when you are used to mouse jestures that is). really, i like everything about konqueror except that sometimes it can be a bit cumbersome to operate, and for the life of me i could never find out how to access the history (though i know it's stored, i can find the file, heh).
both browsers i mentioned OF COURSE have cookie monitoring, encryption warnings, popup blocking, and tab browsing.

Wow, still a lot of people using IE.
Maybe the SP2 version is going to be a lot better than IE6?
I'm still at Firefox.
FireFox even though it crashes on me time to time

I like Konqueror but its rendering engine khtml is a bit ploppy infact a lot ploppy
I use Firefox as my main browser but i have to switch to konqueror to be able to search within text boxes
like the quick reply at the bottom of this page
Internet explorer does it too but i think thats more to do with them being intergrated into their desktops
I vote for IE. But I used FireFox before upgrading to XP SP2 RC2
*edit - wow I never thought in a million years I'd be voting for a Microsoft product, lol

FireFox except for that rare occasion when I absolutely have to use IE.

I'm sticking with IE -- it has never given me a problem renderings webpages coded in Dreamweaver and I'd rather have Outlook Express's newsgroup management. Can't say the same about FireFox/Thunderbird. Pales in comparison thus far ...

Same here. I hate that some websites insists on using ActiveX. Don't they know any better? :D
Mozilla mostly, some IE but with a tab support addon
i chose IE coz with y'z toolbar it rawks :D
plus I already have all the built-in short-cuts for it :)
I use firefox/mozilla once in a while but there does not appear to be any speed advantage that I can see...

With IE, it can be more an issue of security, though I do use IE sometimes as well. There are things one can do, to help secure their box though (outside just patching Windows and IE though).
Ironically, I've had some sites that didn't play in IE however, as I've also had some sites that didn't play in Mozilla. Tis weird IMO, but as long as one runs into them, one needs 2 browsers it seems. One of my colleges registration sites, however they have it scripted, the login for online registration doesn't work in IE. Another forum (don't ask me what software they're using), the links are like all dead except in Mozilla. Online banking with NMEFCU didn't work in Mozilla however...
bleh, whatever, though I think sites should be scripted to work in whatever browser one might chose to use, either way...

Poor Netscape :retard:
Yep, Netscape is slow and fat, everything about it just seems like too much bulk. It's been that way ever since they abandon version 4 (best version in my opinion).
I'd like to change my vote on the poll, I'm actually a Firefox user now. When this poll was made I was using Mozillla, but within a day of that I switch to Firefox. I like Firefox much better, it has more mouse functionality and a few other improvements.

Firefox, although I haven't migrated over to the latest version. Safari and iCab are great for the Mac. :)
I don't know why I can't wean off the IE tit'....
I have many Mozil \ Firefox browers dl'd I just can't bring myself to install them...strange :screwy:

I like Safari on the Mac, but I still like the extensions in Firefox ... Adblock and Sage (RSS reader) in particular. And it's just nice having the same browser (bookmarks and profile) on the work and home PCs and on the PowerBook. I was going to give Camino a look as well ... based on the Gecko rendering engine, but optimized for OSX.
