Woohoo, it starts tomorrow! It looks like Lance will have a hard time winning again with Ulrich, Mayo and Hamilton in such good shape. I'll be watching OLN everyday for the next three weeks.:D
Ya, wonder if he can break the record this year. It is a huge task to do.
I'll be watching it too, I personally think lance can do it, he is such a great cyclist, defently good in the mountains and time trails.

Yeah, I'm definitely pulling for Lance, I'm just a bit nervous for him.
I feel like such an idiot, I was in France for over a week during the 2000 tour and I never went to see it. I didn't actually start following this stuff till I got into biking myself a couple of years ago.
You going to go see it Smokey?

True. Urlich was dumped in the moutains but gained in the time trials, still Lance is the best on the hills. That is where most riders get left.

Just had a look at where all the stages are, and none are close to me at all, tho, a having a cousin staying in Paris for 3 months, I may just go visit here for the end of the tour :) I live down south along the cote d'azur, about 60km east of Marseille.

Well, let's hope the pressure doesn't get to Lance.
His one stumbling block may be his emotions.

Great first day for Lance, just 2 seconds behind the leader. Looks like he really is ready to try for a 6th.

Woah, I never relaized there was a sports forum.
Well, looks like Mayo is out of the running after todays split of the pelaton. Lance, Ulrich and Tyler Hamilton are still within 20 sec of each other, but tomorows team time trial should shake things up a bit. :D
I never watched cycling before, but I found myself watching OLN, and getting into it...Go Lance
lance is in far better shape than miguel was when he went for his 6th...
I watched him fade away in the mountains as ulirach took over...
lance should do better from what we have seen thus far :)
his strongest rival had a fall and fell farther back...
many who don't like him will likely raise bloody hell about substance abuse (he has NEVER failed a drug test) but unless he fails in the mountains he seems likely to make it through for 6 :)

For Live reports!!!
1600: The US Postal team are well set to win today's team time trial - and in the process give Lance Armstrong the yellow jersey - after reaching the third time checkpoint more than one minute earlier than the Illes Belears team.
Ya, Mayo was 3 minutes back in yesterday's stage. Haven't seen todays news.

Team USPS cleaned house! Lance is now in yellow. Awsome!
yep... he seems to be a little weaker in the mountains this year so perhaps he needs more of a cushion going in... good strategy :D
Looking good for Lance so far. Is Lance and Sheryl Crow an item, she seemed to know that he does'nt always put hotel matresses on the floor.
I'm really looking forward to stage 16 on the 21st, this is the stage where we should see Lance show the world just how good a champion he is :)

Yeah, from what I heard on the radion this morning they're going out now.
As for stage 16, I hope Lance is feeling good that day. They ahd an uphill time trial earlier this year and Mayo dominated. I think Lance got 5th. But we know Lance trains to peak for the tour de france, so hopefully it'll be Lance dominating this time.

BIG day coming up! The first mountain stage should see some excitement as many of the sprinters could get dropped.

That was by far the most exciting stage of the tour yet. I was standing up yelling at the TV for the last 3-4km. It was awsome to see so many people dropped by the wayside. I was a little disappointed that Lance didn't quite win the stage, it looked like he really wanted it but not enough to sacrifice the rest of the tour. Looking forward to stage 13!!! :jumping:

Oh, and Ivan Basso looked pretty scary  , it'll be interesting to see if he hangs in there to give Lance a run for the yellow jersey.
