will the 10th race of the season be another Schumacher-a-thon? possibly. he was 2nd fastest in the first practice, 5th in the second, so he does appear to be poised to take yet another victory. will Da Matta actually post a good result, finally, for Toyota?

tough news about Ralf: his season, essentially, is over as a result of that hard crash at Indy, as his injuries proved to be worse than initially expected.

there may possibly be 19 races next year, with coutries like Turkey, Russia, and India trying to get an F1 race, whilst a 2nd race may be added to the USA. the more the merrier:

and, finally, FIA will not revise qualy rules again (it would have been the 3rd time they changed the rules this season). apparently, Mosley also wants teams to come up with ways to slow down their cars. last time i checked, F1 was auto-racing where speed is rewarded.

surprise, Alonso out-qualies Schumie. barely, while, even greater a surprise, DC is 3rd (whilst Kimi is 9th). both Renaults performed well at their home race, so far. but what does this mean on race day? Schumie may have to wait a few laps longer to take the lead and run away with it all? probably. he has the best/fastest car, and he'll likely win the race, unless he does something stupid or bad weather interrupts yet another parade.

Superb on-track overtaking maneuvers by Michael and co. once again. I just don't get it. Why the **** don't they ban refuelling altogether?

ah well, the Schumie parade continues for another race. not only is their car the fastest, the driver the best, but they also have the best tacticians (in Todt and Brawn, etc). a four stop strategy, and still beating Alonso by 8 seconds? wow. great move by Barrichello right at the end, moving from 4th to 3rd.

both BMWs were disappointing, with only Montoya scoing 1 point. and DC (who won't be resigned at McLaren) beating out Kimi for McLaren in the first race with their newly unveiled car: at least they both managed to finish the race and score some points, but it's likely too little too late for this season. the best driver in F1, Button, managed only a 5th place finish, while his team-mate, Sato, continued to have Villeneuve-esque luck, in other words, all bad. his engine died yet again. Toyota had an awful race today.

we are seeing, right now in F1, an unbelievable talent with an equally impressive team. a dynasty, but greatness is never trully admired at the moment. it's boring, it's predictable, etc. Renault, BAR and occassionally Toyota provide hope that Ferrari's dominance will end, as there are great talents and drivers in teams not wearing red.

next up: the British GP, in 6 days. :D
