Ok, I don't know if this is serious or not, but when I ran the Dawn Demo with my BFG 6800GT (61.71) at stock speeds, I get some artifacts on Dawn's Face. Also when I tried Call of Duty today, the colors just weren't right. All of the sudden half the map turns from white to yellow (for one second, this happens constantly). Lastly, when I played Thief: Deadly Shadows, I get small green artifacts on the screen. I am using Winxp SP2 with DX9.0C installed. So, is there something wrong with my drivers or card? Opinions appreciated.

are you overclocking you GT?
it may cause problems when you run some games. I did.

I did some overclocking for benchmark testing, but the artifacts justs stay there. Underclocking is the same situation.... Maybe a driver issue? I'm now running at stock speeds. cpu is a total bottleneck (2.6C)

Have you tried changing drivers? The 61.71s gave me some problems which were fixed with the 61.36s.

It seems each 6800 has its own personality, for better or worse.

dx9.0c is giving some problems, might want to wait until official nvidia drivers are out. Should be this week to coincide with fc sm3.0 patch.

I'd bet if you ran your card with dx9.0b and the drivers it came with on the CD it might work fine.

ok, I might as well wait for the official release, in the mean time, I'll get used to the artifacts.

get used to it , and you will find artifact is a part of the 3D world.......

unless he OC'd the RAM way to much without going up in increments and damaged it!

???? :screwy:
What 3D world do you live in? Artifacts are not normal or acceptable.

Come on guys. Lets try and help him rather than post flame bait material.

How high did you push your memory? How high did you push your core?

Also. You may to consider the worse and think the card might just be bad.

DONOT get used to the artifacts! There could be something seriously wrong somewhere and you need to find the answer now just in case you damage the core/ram.

What are your case temps etc?

well, I did some testing, and my conclusion was yes DX9.0C had some bugs that kept giving me artifacts. Now I do DX9.0b, no more artifacts on Dawn. NOW, this is what I think the major reason 6800GT wasn't doing well. I was testing it on a Raptor 74GB 10K rpm. I don't know what went wrong with that drive, but it recently detected the 6800GT as a PCI after I applied some AS5, then today when I was reinstalling XP and rebooting, the hard drive died (CURSE YOU WDC :@:@). Only in service for 3 months. Now I'm back to the regular 7200rpm drive (Maxtor 200GB), and whola, it's detected as AGP 8X, and Nalu demo has no artifacts. I'm gonna have to be careful with that 10k stuff. It's just been giving me headaches. As for the AS5 on the GT, dunno if it will help the temps

Guys I’m having the same problems. I’ve ran both SP1 (DirectX 9.0b) and SP2 (DirectX 9.0C) and I’m still getting the graphical issues. The games that the issues are present in are FarCry, UT2004, Pain Killer (not as bad or as much) and Battlefield Vietnam.

Here are the threads I have started on the topic at hand.

It’s not just me for others are having the same issues.

In my case what do you guys think? Do you think it’s still a driver/directX 9.0 issue or is my issue my card?

read somewhere that BFG uses AS5 on their cores already..

They do lol. What a waste of a warranty for him to have done that!
