Anyone know when this card is going to be released ?

Not the "sell your kidney to afford it" (aka watercooled) edition but the air cooled version ?

Some retailers have it on their price lists but its not even on the Gainward site as yet......

The Ultra? Gainward has some of the most hard to read/understand labeling model I have ever seen

You had a Golden Sample 6800 ultra ?

Yeah, they cost a bit more, but only £20 more at the place i placed my order. Thats worth it for being *certain* that it will OC, and will still be covered by their warranty, since they are the ones that do it.

I was talking to Gainward Sales reps in the US a few weeks ago about the release of their card, and the reps were saying that the CoolFx and the Extreme models are not going to be released in the United States market due to price.
The CoolFx would be about a $1000, and the Extreme model would be about $850 dollars. They said that there is no enough demand out there, when models cost this much money.

To let u all in on a little secret: There is no difference between the CoolFX/Extreme model and the Ultra model, it is just a bios difference. I got that from the horses mouth itself. I don't know why I'm telling you all this, but I am.

Doesn't the XFX came with 425/1100 from the box?
And there was a review where theyr XFX 6800 U was clocked at 450/1200?

XFX = Pine.

Gainword have a good reputation, and haven't had to rebrand in order to shake off bad customer reputation.

Fair enough, but i was mentioning this on context of clock speeds, not on the part of the company itself.
You do have to agree that the price they are charging for the Golden Sample is a bit, erm, exploratory.
Ence my question relative to clock speed

Nice, take some pics and keep us updated on it, i would like to know what Gainward has to offer (though it might not be much different from the rest, thats not stopping anyone else! :ORDER: )
Btw, very nice system, though i dont think i'd spend that much on a few more fps , but to each his own! (Sorry if that sounds mean, im just saying :screwy: )

Guaranteed 425 core, might get 450 if you're lucky. That's what seems to be goin on with XFX atm. The review card was 450mhz core and possibly 1200 mem also?

I believe the Extreme comes with a propreity Heatsink/Cooler/ThermaL Compound.

Also, where can I order the Extreme card but from a place that ships to the United States. All the places I've found selling the cards are Europe only.

I only heard of the CoolFX PowerPack Ultra/2600 Golden Sample and the FX PowerPack 2600 Golden Sample. Never heard of the extreme.

The Gainward 6800 Ultra is coming out. Although if you want an Extreme or CoolFX, u may want to start looking at overseas for the product. I believe i won'tdrop until the end of July. That is coming from sources within Gainward. Look back to my previous post from what i said.

The UK sites don't ship to addresses outside of UK.

You might as well go with BFG. 6800 Ultra is @ 425mhz with the lifetime warranty. Or if you want a factory watercooled card, they have one running at 470mhz, at $600 vs $1000 (!!) for the gainward.

I'm waiting for gainward to release ultra or GT. What ever they call them under their own names I have no idea. But seeing as the product is not on the gainwardusa website tells me they are not out yet.

I'm hoping to get a gainward before the end of july. Getting tired of having a Ti4400 which is over 2 years old now.

BFG 6800U OC with waterblock doesn't come with a full watercooled system, so you will have to have an existing system in order to be able to use it. The Gainward package comes with everything you will need, however, and hence it has a MSRP of $800.

Gainward is hot air.

All mine have overclocked well, 5700u at 625/1070 for instance, GF4 4800SE at 340/680.

I think the watercooled version is overpriced at around £600 but the aircooled version while slightly slower is more value for money at around £420, thats only £20 more than the XFX.

I'm happy to wait for the Gainward, at least for the time being. If it slips into August then i will change my mind.

Well, "happy to wait" is not quite correct. I'm actually livid that these 6800's are as rare as rocking horse shat and will continue to be so a QUARTER OF A YEAR after the "launch" :bash:
