I too am an old man. 55 next month. My wife calls me the "Tracking Number Man". When I am expecting a package I'll check the UPS, FEDX,etc. at least 4 times a day. On delievery day I set up in front of a window and watch all day till it arrives. Being retired has its advantages.

Hello I am contemplating to about ordering a GT from EVGA myself but I am weary about the brokerage fee that UPS might charge me. When you do recieve it can you please tell me how much it costs you in total with shipping? Thanks.

brokerage fee?...wtf is that?

Mine came to $419 with 2 day shipping to NH.

Plus came with far cry..

Plus overclocks well over ultra speeds...

Im at 12,500ish in 3dmark2k3 so far at ultra speeds on my GT!

i dont sit on the door step waiting. f that. get in the car and go to fedex (or ups in this case) and demand they give it you lol. works everytime for me. patience on the way home never works though. last time i went to fedex was for my his iceq 9800pro. averaging 110mph on freeway. hehe. fortunately no cops.

Im the same, 22 though, but still feel pretty elderly. My dad is 65, he had more energy than me :)

Do you guys ever dream about the package on the last night?
I do, and did last night for my GT to be dispatch... not even delivered.

So there I am... , waiting in the que at scan, when the guy calls me up, Hes ~18, a little chubby, unshaven look. The place is quite large. Everythng is empty - no selves or anything. I ask him if my GeForce 6800GT has arrived. He hands me over an old PCB with heat sinks collecting dust. I dont know why, but feel its a very old ATi. Feeling insulted and offended, I pull the guy up asking wtf this is, also insunuating a sueing may be in order.

He dissapears into the back, and brings out a large water filled mouse mat. I mean VERY large. And theres somethng else too, but i can't make it out - both gifts for the apparent mixup. He mumbles something in his mouth. I cant make out his words, but can feel what hes saying. Hes saying somethng along the lines of "you better not sue or ill kick youe head in". I, being as I am (skinny, tall, but heavy temprement) ask him to clarify what he has just said.

He Stops and goes back into the rear of the store.

He brings out bag with some stuff in it. He is accomanies by a squad of policemen with M16s... they look more like SWAT than police. The guy accuses me of trying to steal something with "this bag" that I apparently own. I am so disgusted, but feel helpless (you know, like when you are trying to run away from something but you move in slow mothion, and just cant get away from whatever it is you are running from?) I fly into the air and rise into the sky, but feel obliged to follow the police. I am then escorted to a sewage treatment plant, where I see rain being turned into pure water. I go outside. It is a bright sunny day.

I am accompanied by 2 very highly skilled lawyers. We walk into Scan... into one fo the side rooms. One of the lawyers murmers "the guy says th didnt recognise you as citezen of this country, which in itself is racist, and against the law." He gives me a nod of reassurance, as if htis would be a very easy case. The new room is a court, which the judge out of view. On the left, there are cheerleaders in full dress - bwite and green, talking amongst themselves. In the center, directly adjacent, there are naked models getting their pictures taken - FHM style. On the right is the Scan staff... I only see the guy that "served" me. I stare at him. He begins to looking worried.

I feel free... I wake up.

One of the most vivid dreams I have ever had - I wonder if Sigmund Freud browses our forums.

Thankfully Scan isn't that vindictive. I have been on the phone to them and e-mailed them on occasion regarding issues. They have always been the best I have experienced in customer service.

I get my card tomorrow.

Mr Bob. I truly admire your enthusiasm for technology. I honestly hope to god I am as active are when I reach your age. I will always remember you as one of the Uniques in this world. :)

Wishing you the Very Best that life has to offer.

Really? You know this for a fact that air shipping will include brokerage fee?

Well last time (last year) that I've ordered a UPS package Air from USA they charged me only the TPS+TVQ. That's why sometime UPS ground seems a bargain like 15$ vs 35$ for air (it's an example only). Most of the time i try to order Fedex or Puro, it will take a really desesparate moment to order from a store who deal only with Ups ground again..
