UPDATE 05/07/04

We have been in discussions with ATI/Crytek today over the issues we discovered with Radeon X800 rendering as detailed in the above article. Crytek have confirmed that the FarCry 1.2 build released today will no longer have these issues and that X800 IQ will be just as good in Patch 1.2 as it was in 1.1.

I saw that at the end of the review at driverheaven.net

http://www.driverheaven.net/articles/farcrypatch/

does that mean its today? thats what i saw

even though whoever did the review put 5/7 i think its meant to be 7/5 obvisouly

Brits do day then month I believe. Not everyone follows our month/day/year formula.

I can only hope it will be released today. I'm tired of running on the R3xx path.

Does anyone besides me find it amusing that this thread ID is 31337? :)

I'm feeling more 31337 just reading it.

These kinda of miscommunications are ridiculous. I mean c'mon, WTF are people thinking here? People are waiting for this thing and get their hopes up, it's always a letdown when someone screws up like this. Kinda reminds me of the Gateway XT fiasco (seen their reseller ratings lately? it's ugly..) in that everyone got all excited about them having it in stock and at that great price but then they crapped on us.

I don't know who is responsible for it but they are a morAn whoever it was.

Ahhhhh...This is crap. Hurry up already. Please! Can someone who has the patch just setup a link to it. The heck with the NDA or whatever you have, let the water flow so we to can enjoy the game more

Sumpthin's fishy! (http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=400102&f=452106891&m=158100425)

I mean jeeze! Locking threads for merely discussing if a patch is coming out or not!?!

The X800 fix may be taking longer than they expected.

I was thinking the same thing. Fixing this cause a delay it's only fair for the X800 owners IMO.

I just want to know...why is it that Crytek will respond to review sites when they say that the quality of the patch for the ATI cards will be better than the patch they gave them...but they won't correct them on the release date?

Hmm, found the below in an update at The Tech Report. Two 1.2 patches will be released and it doesn't look like the first will be today (according to this anyway).

http://www.techreport.com/etc/2004q3/crytek/index.x?pg=1

As we wrapped things up, I veered off the path a bit to ask another question on everyone's mind: Will Far Cry 1.2 include a revamped save-game system? Yerli said there will be two versions of the 1.2 patch released. Crytek hopes to release the first version within the next week or so. That initial version of the 1.2 patch will not include a quick-save function. Some time later, Crytek plans to release a version 1.2 patch with quick-save enabled. Yerli said building quick-save into Far Cry has been a painful process, because the game wasn't designed with this feature in mind. However, Crytek is fixing bugs daily, and the quick-save patch will be released once all the bugs are squashed.

Something's up! The Ubi.com forums (http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=frm&s=400102&f=452106891) are down! At least on my end.

They weren't getting that much action today as they were yesterday, so I don't think they were overloaded.

its not the first time i read about implementing a quick save option ,not being as "quick to do" in a game that was not designed for it. a great part of the game needs to rewritten for that.

They should just make using the developer mode as a "feature" of quick save and use the method others have been using for quick save and quick restore. Doesn't seem like it would be worth the trouble when it can be done so easily this way.

Geez this patch keeps finding ways to get delayed. The 1.3 patch is supposed to contain a lot more content so it's anyone's guess how long that one will end up taking.

WTF? I STILL can't get into their forums!
