earleir today, I wrote this letter an e-mailed it to sales@bfgtech and marketing@bfgtech.com:

hello,
i preordered one of your cards (BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC) back on 6/21/04
through Best Buy.
It seems to me Best Buy has no idea what is going on with their own preorders.
At first, they send me an email stating the card was going to be shipped on 6/28
then they send an email stating that the card would be shipped on 7/06
then they send an email on 6/29 that although the card was on backorder, they
expect it to ship to me by 7/04
the next day, they send out another email stating the preorder release date is
now 7/02
the card itself at one point had the status of "Checking inventory, waiting for
ship address to confirm as delivery address", b ut as of yesterday now its on
backorder again with a "we expect it to ship to you within 25 days"
message....
I talked to Best buy customer support, they seem clueless as to whats going
on.... they say they nothing for a release date from you guys for that product,
nor does their inventory have ANY instock.... but the problem is, there are
others whom have orderd that exact same card from Best Buy who are receiving
their cards today.... and had received a tracking number from best buy via e-
mail last friday, so obvisouly, Best Buy has received SOME or ALL of the
preordered cards, correct?
it appears i am not the only one having this problem..... as you can see here:

So to kill down the confusion thats running between myself and everyone else
who has preordered the BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC card, do you know if Best Buy
currently plans on shiplping these cards within the next few days? If they
don't have them, do you know when they'll get their next shipment in?
I only ask because there are alot of angry BFG fans mad right now that had
their hopes up... and i dont see it fair that only a select few who preordered
in advance get their cards while other have to wait...
hope to hear from you soon, theres alot of anxious people to find out when Best
Buy will send or have these cards to fill the rest of the preorders they
took...

Heres the OFFICIAL word from BFG Technologies about the BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC delay at best buy... looks like it wont be too long we have to wait....

I apologize for the confusion. Pre-orders can be somewhat tricky and
everyone involved is continually working to make it as seamless process
as possible. Thank you for contacting us though -- your feedback is
valuable to us in making this process better, and we will share it with
Best Buy.
I can tell you that we continue to prioritize Best Buy's orders to us,
and we will be continually shipping batches of Ultra cards to Best Buy
over the next few weeks as we play catch up to the high volume of orders
we are getting. That means Best Buy will also be shipping these cards to
their customers over the same time period.
I know a card in hand is worth two in the pipeline, but hang in there,
your card is coming!
