I as well would look forward to Soundstorm 2, however according to nForcersHQ, it will again miss the cut. They have traditionally been right on target.

Its unfortunate, but perhaps NV will recall one of the more important selling factors of the NF2 chipset logic.

It's exceedingly unfortunate that SS2 has been shot in the back of the head. For a company that in the past has been pretty good at marketing, it's quite unbelievable actually.

SLI in, SS2 out. WTF? Ummm... yeah, way to build up market share. Not.

Wait... there doesn't seem to be any direct statement that SS2 has been canned from any of the rumors so far. Furthermore, this chipset isn't going to be called nForce 4 either. I'll keep up hope until I see a firm denial of SS2, then I'll cry.

It's now missing from The Inq's latest rumours:

You're right, it's not official. Personally I'm going to presume it's been canned, then jump for joy if I'm proved wrong (mag)

God I really hpe they dont can SS2. I just don't understand how Nvidia would leave it out. Its a huge part of what made the NF2 chipsets catch on. Welp heres to hoping.

Taiwanese motherboard makers apparently feel that SoundStorm doesn't offer much value to consumers, especially when cheap 8-channel software audio is all the rage.

Bloody Intel.

I heard it's going to have an integrated A64 FX-57 processor.
