The link is down, any other link or can you post the roadmap image here?
I am about to buy myself a laptop soon, I wonder when will both ATI and Nvidia new chips show up in new laptops? Cos I dont want to waste my money buy a new £1099 laptop probably this month as my uncle more likely to buy my old laptop this month when he getting broadband in his area ready up and running.
Sure man. It looks like the address was shortened by the forums.

Even if you can't read Japanese, the roadmap is universal.
Hey! Could you post a Babelfish translation? I'm at work, & they don't allow translator programs to be run.

Great thank for the working link. :D

I looked at the roadmap, now it July, where are laptops with X600 chips in it? X800 mobility was scheduled to launched last month June. I am hope to get Athlon 64 laptop with NV41M, that chip due to launch in August.
The road map shows the X600 launched in mid-2004, which has already happened. Unfortunately no one has seen them because of Intel's 915/925 PCI-Express chipset southbridge problems, and everyone was setback timeline. ATi is on track, they just have to wait for fixed notebook motherboards from Intel.
The roadmap shows the m28 pro being released in 3Q/4Q 2004, not in June.
BTW, if I were you, I would get an m28 pro, not a NV41M. The reason why, all things being equal (16 pipes, same clock speed, etc), is that ATi uses a low-k dielectric on their transistors, which cuts substantially on power consumption. That is a much better solution for notebooks. nVidia has yet to have TSMC or any other chip maker work on any low-k chips yet (AFAIK).
The A64 in a laptop seems perfect though. I'm waiting for the Lancaster, 35W A64 3400+ running at 2.2Ghz with 2Ghz Hypertransport socket 939. Seems to be a Dothan-killer with Desktop power!
There is a reason why we have a hardware rumour mill? ;) To discuss rumoured specs of/or hardware that hasn't been released yet.
