What would be the safest that I could over clock the BFG Geforce 6800 GT to without causing problems? And could someone tell me how to do it?

The coolbits registry hack includes an overclocking function. Information on how to enable it can be found in the Forceware drivers forum. On 6800 cards there is an option to automatically/dynamically overclock the card. If you want the absolute safest option, that's the way to go. No fuss, no muss.

go 5-10 mhz at a time, do a test, check for artifacts...rinse, lather, repeat. =) (j/k about rinse and lather)

Don't use Auto. It locked my machine up and caused all sorts of weird issues. Use manual. Small increments and look for artifacts running rthdribl at high res.

You have a direct link for the over clock tool? And what is rthdribl?
