I have seen the press releases about the Quadro 3000G and Powerwall software, and can still find some of the Nvidia info if I search the Nvidia site. Has anyone had any experience with one of these ? We have several Vis Centers with SGI Onyx machines with edge blending, etc. and have been looking for something similar on the PC side. Questions :

Will a single card in a PC drive 2 projectors, or do I need two cards and genlock ?

It seems to indicate that this is a driver feature that is available on all Quadro cards. Are there resolution/refresh rate differences between the Quadro 1000,2000,3000 cards with the Powerwall setup, or is just a rendering speed thing ?

Thanks,
Kevin

The Quadro FX cards are two-headed so you can drive 2 projectors. The edge-blending feature is built-in to the driver. If you want to go above 2, you have to use the QFX3000G and genlock multiple computers together. I'm not sure how the recent announcement of multiple PEG slots and SLI affect Powerwall.

Hi Wilson

I also have Quadro2000 and a T221 but i don't know it's DG1 or DG3
(because we buy it early and go with an Matrox card, it's not DG5)

I want to drive it to higher refresh rate than 25 Hz, but stucked.
Is there any way to work this out?
How about Quadro 3000 or 4000, will they work?

thanks

You probably have a DG1 converted to a DG3. The only difference is the cable set.

To get the DG3 to go higher than 25Hz with 1 card, you'll need to get a quad-head card like Matrox HR256 or the one from Colorgraphics. Only the DG5 supports the external dual-link DVI box which gives you 48Hz using the Quadro FX 2000/3000/4000.

Too bad, as I need the DX8/9 ability provided by quodra card, so i can't use
other card. I had surmise that if i convert the two dual-link port of Quadro 2000 into 4 single-link DVI and then connect them to the 4 DVI input of my T221 might work..... what a stupid design dual-link DVI is.

Will the IBM provide any firmware upgrade for this?
beside,
1. will Viewsonic version of 3840x2400 monitor support Quadro card and high-refresh rate?
2. I have think about using two card to do this, but I believe there might be tearing between two card controld region, is there any solution could let two card sync? 3000G could do genlock, but there is only one
AGP per machine, let alone, 3000G's price is like blackmare..

Thank your.

Wait for a sale on the DG5. Last year they had it briefly for $5900.
