It seems there may be some issues with this motherboard and certain driversets.

For instance, both Headbust and I have the D865PERL and we both experienced stuttering with driversets 61.21 and 61.71.

61.36 seems to fix the issue, however in the 3dmark01 test that has the dragons on the carousel with the 8 lights (I think it is 11), there seems to be some stuttering. The first dragon carousel test works perfectly smooth but the one with 8 lights seems to stutter. Wondering if anyone else is getting stuttering on that test.

So, for those who have the D865PERL, what driversets have you used without stuttering (61.36 seems to work), and for anyone in general do you get stuttering on the above 3dmark01 test with the dragons/carousel and 8 lights.

Edit: maybe this should go in the drivers section?

I've used 3 driver sets already and exhibit a FPS drop in heavy action(like 60fps dropping down to 20-30fps during firefights ect. in Call of Duty. Don't know why this is happening :(

61.21's probably the best, but still has the slowdown, not as bad as the other two.
61.36's
61.71's

The only drivers I have tried so far are the 61.36 and 61.71. As Ruined said the 61.71 gave me a stuttering effect. I forget what it was but i had something running that i believe was causing it in the backround at the time.

I only used the 61.71 drivers for probably 10 seconds in farcry and 10 seconds in UT2004. 61.36 runs me just fine. But i will try 61.71 again and see if that backround process was causing it.

I have not run 3mark2001 yet as i think it is teh gay. Ill DL it and run it tonight or tommorow.

Yep 61.71 gave me occassional stuttering too, 61.36 cleared that up.

Update:

I cleared all the left over drivers off my system with DC 3 after uninstalling the 61.36s. I then installed 61.21 from my BFG CD. After rebooting I unpacked the 61.71s and manually pointed my system at the inf file by selecting 'driver update', have disk etc, under my device manager. I updated them right over the BFG 61.21s. No stutter now and about 4 FPS(in average FPS) better in Far Cry.

EDIT: Ruined also make sure to uninstall and clean in safe mode, that way you are sure not to have anything left.

Hrm maybe it has to do with leftover crap? I didn't use driver cleaner until before installing the 61.36 drivers myself.
