View Full Version : BFG 6800 GT with 61.72 not running well :(

Playing games at 1280 x 1024 with only 2x AA and 4x AF and my fps goes from 60 to low 30's and even 20's when I'm playing Call of Duty and SOF2.

even when running at 1024x768 i exhibit these problems. I'm not sure why this is occuring since the card itself should be able to handle these games at that resolution fine.

I tried the 61.36's, 61.71's, and 61.21's

61.21's that came with the card seem the best, but still exhibit a lot of slow down, less than the others but i still feel/see it.

Any ideas? This was installed with a clean format of XP Pro.

Looks like there might be issues with the 6800s and some Intel boards.

How about AMD Mobos any issues there?

Well it's not stuttering(experienced that a long time ago with my Radeon 9500 Pro with cat 3.0's). Seems when lots of action is going on, grenades, firefights ect they just drop. If its the mobo then i'm willing to swap it out for something else. But rather not blow 150+ on a new mobo if its not warranted.

Thanks for the link, I'll try to dig up more research on the intel issue side.

You can get the 61.72's off of guru3d.com

I hate having these drops in FPS. I want to flip out or something :bash:

Just to clarify a point - There might be an issue with Intel BOARDS not boards with Intel Chipsets.

Only if your BOARD is made by Intel it seems.

Otherwise almost every Intel chip user would be ******

Hope that helped.

P.S - No issues with AMD, SiS, VIA, nForce etc etc - NVIDIA love AMD, NForce4 (when it arrives) and 6800 cards are gonna rule the roost.

There are no 61.72 drivers listed on Guru 3d.

Use 61.36 whql drivers from Guru3D, those seem to fix the stuttering problem with intel mobos.

not 61.72, but 61.71

they are there
