My mobo is the Shuttle MN31N and was wanting to upgrade the memory:

Shuttle MN31N (http://us.shuttle.com/specs.asp?pro_id=250)

What would be the best bang for my buck memory right now would you think?

Thanks a lot for any advice...

Check out some of the memory mgf's websites as most have configurators that ask for your mobo make, model, etc and present you with your available options. Here is what Crucial (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?Mfr%2BProductline=Shuttle%2B+Motherb oards&mfr=Shuttle&cat=RAM&model=MN31N&submit=Go) has to offer. I would go with any of the PC3200 options listed there. None are below CL3 but you may be able to tighten it down to 2.5 if you're lucky.

wow, thanks for all the great info, really appreciate that! I think I have DDR PC2100 512MB in there right now. I've got 4 hd's in my machine and it's real tough to actually see or take out the memory are there any utilities out there that can spot:

1. What type of memory I currently have (i.e PC2100)
2. The manufacturer (i.e. Crucial)

I didn't realize memory was so expesive again, I think I will try to match the 2x 256 mb strips I have in there already. If I have 3 slots and 2 are 256MB, can I put a 512 MB is the 3rd slot to get me to 1GB? Is it a big deal to have different manufactures (i.e Crucial vs. Corsair)

Thanks,
