Was wondering how the quality is...

Dont wanna go out and buy a 10 foot s-video cable for $35 unless its worth it :)

I was going to try it with my dvi cable when I get it, so I can see what Far Cry looks like on a 50 inch tv. :drooling:

You better not waste $35 on a 10' s-vid cable.

Any plain-jane s-vid cable from Wally World or a hardware store for under $10 will do the same as a hyped $35 cable.

Do not get S-Video cable, it do not give you high quality picture, DVI picture quality is higher quality and alot better than S-Video.

Forget the svideo cable. If you have a HDTV that doesn't support DVI, but a VGA -> YUV (component video) converter:

svideo will be reduced to NTSC quality - 720x480 interlaced.

If run a VGA/DVI out of your computer (and convert it to component if necessary), instead of 720x480 interlaced you can get 1920x1080 interlaced! (or 960x720 progressive if your tv supports it)

Only thing is not all games support HDTV res.

Brand and model of your HDTV?

Don't go with SVideo! At the very least get a VGA->Component cable adapter. SVideo is low bandwidth and will make your PC display look really ugly.

actually i got rid of the HDTV service because of the limited amount of channels that it offers, anyway i remember a DVI input on the hdtv cable box, in the future when i get it back would i be able to hook the PC up to the cable box?
